Wedding video

Wedding is definitely one of the most important events in the family. As from the videographer’s point of view, wedding video is also something special... as there is now room for mistakes.

Why there is a need for wedding video anyway?
As usually photographer is always at the wedding taking pictures, then videographer is not always there. It depends very much on family traditions whether photo or video is preferred.

Who should make the wedding video?
Usually there are two options. In first case video will be shot by wedding guest(s). Seems to be easy and inexpensive solution but quality is usually poor and there is no guarantee that all the most important moments will be captured. I would suggest the second option where wedding video is made by videographer who has professional equipment, knowledge and experience. Then wedding guests can leave their video cameras at home and can enjoy the wedding.

How much costs wedding video?
Every wedding is somewhat different and therefore wedding video is also different. There are many factors starting with season of the year, weather, location, time, length of the wedding, special requirements by the couple and therefore the amount of work of videographer on the wedding day.

The second stage - Video editing.
During video editing only the best parts of the raw video material are collected together. Video editing is a main part of post production and it is usually not appreciated much as client can't see how it is done and how much time it takes. Good wedding video requires 20 to 80 hours of video editing work. Also sound of the video will get extra attention so that the result would be easy to listen. Background music and titles will be added as an extra spice.

The third stage - output to media
Result of video editing needs to put onto some media carrier. Medium type is usually DVD disk for play-back on stand alone DVD player or computer. NEW! Starting from 2011 it is possible to get your video in HD format on Blu-ray disc (BD). Due to its bigger capacity, Blu-ray offers much better picture quality in high definition (HD) format. Additionally, DVD or BD disc will get chapter marks for easy navigation and disc design in color or b/w print.

For conclusion. Those three stages count the most on how much the wedding video will cost. There is always option to play with those three or maybe choose only one or two of those. Another approach is to decide on the budget and then ask from the videographer what it possible to get for that budget.
